Native of City St-Laurent, Pierre Houde began his career from radio operator advertiser at the 19 years age. 85-86 furent pour lui, l'apothéose de cette passion alors qu'il devenait
directeur général du Grand Prix de Formule 1 du Canada.
Diplômé en administration des affaires, sa carrière s'est rapidement
orientée vers les communications. Il acceptait alors un poste d'animateur à
la radio montréalaise. Avec la venue du Réseau des sports en 1989, Pierre a
pu mettre en évidence sa polyvalence et son talent de commentateur. Ainsi,
en octobre 89, il prenait les guides de la description du "Hockey à RDS" et
l'animation d'un magazine hebdomadaire sur le hockey "La ligue en
questions". Sa grande passion pour la course automobile l'a conduit à la
description des Grands Prix de Formule 1 et de la Série IndyCar (maintenant
Champ Car).
Pierre vit le sport qu'il décrit à plus de trois cents kilomètres à l'heure.
C'est probablement pour cela qu'il repousse la barre de référence en matière
de description sportive au Canada français. Plusieurs événements sportifs
l'ont marqué dans sa carrière de commentateur. Il se souviendra des Jeux
olympiques d'Atlanta, alors qu'il se trouve sur les abords de la piste
quatre cents mètres, il assista à la victoire fulgurante de l'équipe
canadienne de sprint aux relais quatre fois cent mètres. À la fin de
